Construction worker killed Saturday identified by coroner

The Clark County coroner's office on Sunday identified a construction worker crushed to death Saturday near Flamingo Road and Town Center Drive.

Salvador Gradilla-Moran, 30, city of residence unknown, died at the construction site on Granite Ridge Drive, the Clark County Fire Department said.

First responders were called to the site about 2 p.m. Fire officials said Gradilla-Moran was in a trench when heavy fire equipment crushed him. It took crews "some time to recover the body," Las Vegas police spokeswoman officer Laura Meltzer said Saturday.

The state Occupational Safety and Health Administration took over the investigation, Meltzer said. It wasn't immediately clear what type of construction was taking place.
