Coroner: Death of 4-year-old left in hot car was accidental

The death of a 4-year-old boy who was left in a hot car in August was ruled an accident by the Clark County coroner's office.

Seth Franz, 4, of Las Vegas, died Aug. 27 after his grandfather was running errands and forgot the boy was in the car, according to Las Vegas police.

Seth was discovered in the car about 6:30 p.m. near East Sahara Avenue and Nellis Boulevard.

He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he died of hyperthermia, the coroner's office said Saturday.
