June 3, 2016 - 2:10 pm
The motorcyclist killed Wednesday afternoon in a crash in eastern Las Vegas has been identified.
Daniel Murillo, 34-year-old Las Vegan, died Wednesday of multiple blunt force injuries, the Clark County coroner’s office said.
About 1:50 p.m., Murillo, aboard a Kawasaki motorcycle, was heading north on Eastern Avenue toward Twain Avenue, while a Toyota Corolla was stopped in Twain’s eastbound lane, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said.
A Honda Fit turned left from Eastern to Twain. As it turned, it crossed in front of the motorcycle, police said. The motorcycle struck the Honda, and then was turned northeast and scraped into the stopped Toyota, police said.
Murillo was thrown from his vehicle and slid to a stop on the roadway, police said. He and the Honda’s driver, 67-year-old Concepcion Mills, were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Mills was released with minor injuries, but Morillo died, Metro said.
The Toyota’s driver, 69-year-old Patricia Mills, remained on scene and wasn’t injured, police said.
Murillo’s death was the 45th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction for 2016.
