The woman who was found dead Saturday morning near an elementary school has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Las Vegas resident Maricela Faurrieta Suarez, 34, suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Las Vegas police found her body in the 1200 block of Fairchild Street, near Brookman Elementary School, just before 6 a.m. Saturday. They believe she was killed elsewhere before her body was dumped onto the street.

This was the 71st homicide investigated by Metro in 2014.
