Coroner IDs couple, rules deaths as murder-suicide

The couple that died late Tuesday night in what Las Vegas police labeled a murder-suicide in the southwest valley have been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Noelia Norton, 46, and Joseph Anthony Norton, 50, both of Las Vegas, were found dead about 10 p.m. in a home near the intersection of West Wigwam Avenue and South Jones Boulevard.

Noelia Norton died of multiple gunshot wounds, the coroner said. Her death was ruled a homicide.

Joseph Norton died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the coroner said.

Patrol officers and a SWAT team were called to the home in the 6200 block of Glimmering Lights Avenue after 911 dispatchers heard a man and woman arguing on the open line, followed by a gunshot.

After more yelling and more gunshots, the line went dead, police said.
