Coroner IDs man killed after argument at bus stop

The man killed after an argument broke out at a central valley bus stop has been identified by the Clark County coroner.

Michael Pittenger Jr., 32, of North Las Vegas suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, ultimately leading to his death, the coroner said.

Pittenger and another man were approached by three to four Hispanic males in their late teens to early 20s about 12:45 a.m. Thursday. An argument erupted and one of the Hispanic males pulled a gun and shot Pittenger and the other man.

Pittenger and the other man were taken to University Medical Center where Pittenger was pronounced dead and the other remains in critical condition, according to police.

This is the 10th homicide investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department in 2016.

Police have little descriptive information on the suspects and urge anyone with information to contact Metro's homicide unit at 702-828-3521 or homicide@lvmpd.com.
