Coroner IDs man shot to death in southeast Las Vegas

The man killed in the southeast valley Monday has been identified by the Clark County coroner.

Trevon Roland, 24, of Las Vegas died from a wound to the chest after being shot at the Meadow Vista Apartments, 4555 Karen Ave. just southeast of Lamb Boulevard and Sahara Avenue.

Officers were dispatched to the complex just after 9 p.m. when they received reports of shots fired and a man down on the ground, a Metro release said. An investigation indicated a verbal altercation between Roland and another male before the shots were heard.

Arriving officers found Roland outside one of the apartment buildings with no sign of the shooter. Roland was transported to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.

No arrests have been made in connection with this incident, but detectives identified 44-year-old Lacy Howard as a person of interest.

This was the 19th homicide investigated by Metro in 2016.

Anyone with any information about this incident, or anyone who knows the whereabouts of Howard is urged to contact the Police Department's Homicide Section by phone at 702-828-3521, or by email at homicide@lvmpd.com.
