The woman who was stabbed to death Monday at a North Las Vegas home has been identified.
She is 43-year-old Lupe M. Brown, a North Las Vegas resident, the Clark County coroner's office said Tuesday.
Police were called just after 9:45 a.m. Monday to a house in the 1200 block of Ferguson Avenue, a block south of Cahlan Elementary School, near Evans Avenue and Civic Center Drive.
Inside the home, North Las Vegas police found Brown unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Officers arrested 39-year-old Marland Jackson in connection with Brown's death and he was booked into the Las Vegas Detention Center. He faces one count of murder with a deadly weapon.
Jackson stabbed Brown, his girlfriend, multiple times with a "sharpening tool," police said.
Brown died of multiple stab wounds, the coroner's office said. Her death was ruled a homicide.
