Crash leaves SUV on its side, closes road in North Las Vegas

A collision that left an SUV on its side in North Las Vegas on Wednesday night sent one man to the hospital, police said.

North Las Vegas police responded to reports of a collision at the intersection of Clayton Street and Washburn Road just before 6:30 p.m. Witnesses indicated an eastbound Jeep Patriot and a northbound Honda sedan collided in the intersection, officer Sean Walker said at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep was transported to University Medical Center with injuries that are not believed to be serious, Walker said. The driver and passenger of the Honda were not injured, he said.

The crash closed Washburn in both directions just east of the intersection. The investigation is continuing.
