DINE OUT AT VALLEY RESTAURANTS THIS WEEK TO SUPPORT GIRL SCOUTS

Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada is holding its second annual Dine Out for Girl Scouts program at participating valley restaurants through Saturday.

Participating restaurants will donate up to 20 percent of a diner's check to the program, provided that the appropriate flier is presented. The flier can be found at girlscoutsnv.org. Participating restaurants include Jason's Deli, Raising Canes, Joe's Crab Shack, T.G.I. Friday's, Qdoba Mexican Grill and The Resort on Mount Charleston.

PROJECT PINK TO PRESENT THEMED DESSERTS FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

Station Casinos announces Project Pink, a monthlong community campaign at the Grand Cafes at many of its properties that is offering a variety of pink-themed desserts through Oct. 31.

Fifty percent of all proceeds will be donated to the Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Red Rock Resort, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd., also plans to feature a Pink Sampler Platter on the dessert menus at T-bones Chophouse, Terra Rossa and Hachi.

The pink pastries range in price from individual desserts for $1.40 to full cakes for $25, with the majority ranging from $2.50 to $5.25.

SILVERTON ANNOUNCES DINING SPECIALS

The Silverton, 3333 Blue Diamond Road, is offering dining specials at Seasons Buffet, Mi Casa Grill Cantina and Shady Grove Lounge.

The Seasons Buffet plans to offer Oktoberfest from 4 to 9 p.m. every Wednesday in October. The buffet will be $22.99 or $20.99 for those with a Silverton Rewards Club card. Guests also can purchase $10 all-you-can-drink Hofbrau Dunkel Beer in a souvenir stein to take home.

The buffet will feature pumpkin curry soup, German vegetable salad, pork chops with apple compote, sauerbraten, fried cabbage and soft pretzels, with Black Forest Cake and Sacher Torte for dessert.

Mi Casa Grill Cantina plans to offer Mini Mondays from 4 to 9 p.m. in the bar. Mini tacos will be 25 cents with a minimum purchase of two and two-for-$1 mini Coronitas.

Shady Grove Lounge plans to host a Party Pit from 6 p.m. to close Thursdays through Saturdays. Food and drink specials will be available all evening with entertainment.

WINE AND FOOD TASTING EVENT PLANNED

The Golden Monarch Council, a committee of volunteers that supports Nathan Adelson Hospice, is gearing up for its 12th annual Wine and Food Tasting Extravaganza from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 27 to benefit the nonprofit Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Southern Nevada residents and hospice supporters are invited to sample popular wines and cuisine at the event at Gaudin Jaguar-Porsche-Aston Martin, 7200 W. Sahara Ave. Numerous silent auctions and a "cupcake prize counter" are planned. Each cupcake will cost $20 and have a number listed on its bottom wrapper. The number will correspond with a surprise gift.

Summerlin authors John and Laury Bakie plan to sign their book, "The World of Las Vegas Dining," at the event.

STATION CASINOS EXPANDS PASTA CUCINA TO TEXAS STATION, BOULDER STATION

Station Casinos has expanded Pasta Cucina to Texas Station and Boulder Station after debuting the Italian restaurant at Sunset Station, Palace Station and Aliante Station.

The Pasta Cucina restaurant concept was created and is owned and operated by Station Casinos and is taking over space previously occupied by other Italian restaurants at the properties.

Entrees are priced from $10 to $20 and include chicken or eggplant Parmesan, veal scaloppini, linguini and clams, stone-oven pizzas and lasagna.

The locations at Sunset Station and Aliante Station have a separate bar area and will feature small bites appetizers such as meatball sliders, macaroni and cheese and fried artichokes for $4 each.

LES KINCAID PLANS PASTA CLASS

Les Kincaid, host of the nationally syndicated radio show "Wines Du Jour," previously known as "Les' Wines & Vines," plans to host the class Pastas & More from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and Oct. 26 at Ferguson Kitchen & Bath Gallery, 4175 S. FLEMING'S INTRODUCES COCKTAIL FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
