Wine dinner planned: On Oct. 29, Hank's Fine Steaks and Martinis at Green Valley Ranch Resort, 2300 Paseo Verde Parkway, is set to host a wine dinner featuring Foley Family Wines, a vineyard in the Santa Rita Hill's appellation. Patrons can try a five-course dinner prepared by executive chef Luigi Iannuario paired with wines from the winery. The event is priced at $125 (excluding tax and gratuity) per person. Restaurant Halloween celebrations: Residents can party at neighborhood Nacho Daddy, Mercadito or Remedy's, Elixir and Distill locations for Halloween. At all Nacho Daddy locations, kids in costume on Oct. 30 and 31 eat for free with an adult entree purchase. At Remedy's, Elixir and Distill, guests 21 or older can enjoy a celebration set for 8 p.m. Oct. 31 with a disc jockey and dining specials. Costume contests are planned, but no face paint or masks are allowed. At Mercadito in Red Rock Resort, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd., a special Dia de Los Muertos-themed, three-course prix fixe menu is set to be available Oct. 30-Nov. 1.

Learn to make holiday cocktails: As part of the Les Kinkaid UNLV sessions, class attendees can learn to make easy festive holiday cocktails from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 4 at a location to be determined. One session is $59. Register at continuingeducation.unlv.edu or call 702-895-3394.

The Last Slice — The Art of Pie Marking: The event is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Nov. 21 as part of the Downtown Summerlin Farmers Market, 1980 Festival Plaza Drive. Pizza restaurant donation: Grimaldi's Pizzeria announced that its employees and patrons raised more than $300,000 for No Kid Hungry in September, helping connect children in America to nutritious food. The restaurant offered guests a $5 gift card for every $5 donated during the month, joining thousands of restaurants nationwide in the campaign.

Little Caesars food donation: The Little Caesars Love Kitchen provided pizza meals to Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada's St. Vincent Lied Dining Room, Las Vegas Rescue Mission and The Salvation Army Oct. 9, feeding approximately 1,900 people in need. New restaurant downtown: Zydeco Po-Boys celebrated its official grand opening in downtown Las Vegas with a ribbon cutting and food and drink specials Oct. 15 at 616 E. Carson Ave., Suite 140. The location offers fast Cajun food. Visit zydecopo-boys.com.

New downtown bar: Downtown drinkers will soon be able to get their whiskey fix at Vault, a new American cocktail bar at 515 Fremont St. Vault is expected to open in early 2016. Created by the team behind Downtown Container Park's American whiskey den Oak & Ivy, Vault will offer a selection of spirits, a collection of barrel-aged whiskies and 12 handpicked craft beers and ciders on draft. It is also set to offer a menu of homemade snacks and small bites.

Wine pairing dinner: Celebrate fall harvest and join Rick Moonen's rm seafood inside The Shoppes at Mandalay Place, 3930 Las Vegas Blvd. South, for a wine pairing dinner with Napa Valley's Whitehall Lane Winery & Vineyards, set for Nov. 3. Guests can try six wines paired with five courses created by Moonen. The dinner is priced at $150 (excluding tax and gratuity). Space is limited. Taste the Rock: Red Rock Resort, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd, has announced Taste the Rock, a new small bites tasting featuring a selection of drinks and dishes from the resort's lineup of restaurants and lounges. Taste the Rock is designed to give guests an opportunity to try a variety of signature cocktails and dishes rotating seasonally. Bar offers new cocktails: SOCIAL at the Palms, 4321 W. Flamingo Road, the center bar in the heart of the casino floor, recently unveiled a new design and cocktail menu created by expert mixologist Mia Mastroianni of Spike TV's "Bar Rescue" featuring hashtag cocktail stencils, color-changing "OMG blue ice cubes" and SOCIAL bowls. Via Brasil Halloween party: Via Brasil Steakhouse, 1225 S. Ri Ra Halloween Party: From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Oct. 31, Ri Ra Las Vegas in The Shoppes at Mandalay Bay, 3930 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is set to host a Halloween party featuring drink specials and authentic Irish music. Throughout the night, guests can enjoy $5 Guinness pints and live Irish music from The Crooked Jacks. Additionally, Ri Ra is planning a costume contest with prizes for the best dressed.

Station Casinos' Project Pink: Station Casinos is set to host Project Pink, a companywide initiative to raise awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer, through Oct. 31. Proceeds raised throughout October will benefit the Southern Nevada affiliate of Susan G. Komen and American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign. Restaurant events include: Pink Pastries at the Grand Cafes and Café Fiesta with special desserts starting at $1.99; Round Up for Project Pink in which guests dining at any Station Casinos-owned restaurant (cafes, steakhouses, buffets, oyster bars and Italian and Mexican outlets) as well as at any hotel check-in are welcome to round up their bill for Project Pink; Meals for a Cause served at Mexican Restaurants in which $1 from every order of traditional fajitas with pink flour tortillas (chicken, steak and shrimp) and pink sopapillas will be donated. Food truck battle planned Thursdays: Local food trucks are set to roll into the Silver Sevens parking lot from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursdays in October for a food truck battle, offering a variety of savory and sweet street eats. Admission is free, and A-Play Club Card members can vote for their favorite food truck for the chance to win $500 in FreePlay. Nonmembers will be able to sign up for a free card at the event.
