Dining Pick of the Week: Pizza Fusion

10345 S. Eastern Ave. at Coronado Center Drive, 896-9669

Old-fashioned pizza is served here, and that means chemical-free foods, be they organic veggies, hormone-free meats or all-natural cheeses. These pies cater to carnivores, vegans, veg-heads and even those in need of a gluten-free pie. Among the hand-crated artisan pizzas are eggplant and mozzarella, four cheese with sun-dried tomato, Very Vegan (crimini mushrooms, roasted garlic, tomato sauce, soy cheese), barbecue chicken and Founder's Pie, free range chicken, Kalamata olives, red onion, Gorgonzola, mozzarella, provolone and Parmesan. Want to make your own? Choose a crust (original organic, multi-grain, gluten-free), size (personal, large, extra-large), cheese (goat, Daiya) and toppings, including roasted artichoke hearts, roasted tricolor peppers and sautéed spinach. Sandwiches are served on foccacia bread and feature chicken pesto, Caprese, portobello grill, and roasted turkey club. Among the salads are chicken bruschetta, roasted beet and feta with candied walnuts, pear and Gorgonzola, and Tuscan steak. Desserts include gluten-free brownies and gelato, and homemade chocolate chip cookies. Personal pizzas start at $6 and salads at $5. Pizza Fusion is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. - Jack Bulavsky
