Dining Pick of the Week: Super Pizza

We're all wearing our favorite football jerseys these days, and if you're wearing any type of Philadelphia Eagles gear, walk into Super Pizza and receive 50 percent off any menu item during an Eagles game through Dec. 31. If you're not an Eagles fan, you can still enjoy all the menu items, especially East Coast pizzas with all the traditional toppings, along with such specialty pies as White (fresh garlic, olive oil, ricotta, mozzarella), Super (pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, meatballs), Upside Down (cheese on bottom, sauce on top) and The Mayor Frank Murphy, a 16-inch by 16-inch Sicilian cheese pizza. Just as popular are the sandwiches, including cheesesteak, pizza steak, Buffalo chicken cheesesteak with blue cheese and hot sauce, meatball parmigiana, vegetarian hoagie, chicken cheesesteak hoagie (lettuce, tomato and onions), Italian hoagie and The Betty, a turkey and Swiss hoagie. There are calzones, strombolis and appetizers such as garlic knots, fried calamari, Caesar salad, cheese fries, fried pickles and chicken wings. When you walk in, check out the blackboard above the counter for daily specials. Pizzas start at $10.95 and sandwiches at $5.25.
