Pfc Zane P. Iona-Schopp, 19, graduated from Marine Corps recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and the School of Infantry (Infantry Training Battalion) at Marine Corps Base Camp at Camp Pendleton, Calif. He is the son of Jami Schopp of Las Vegas and a graduate of Centennial High School.

Rabekka Rayburn graduated from Air Force Basic Training Oct. 17 in Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Her flight received honor flight and best excellence. She is the daughter of Richard and Michelle Rayburn of Las Vegas. She is a graduate of Arbor View High School.

The Nevada Department of Transportation named Las Vegas resident Tony Illia public information officer II. He will serve as primary agency spokesman for District One, encompassing the Las Vegas Valley, as well as Clark, Lincoln, Esmeralda, Mineral and Nye counties.

Air Force Airman Seth T. Lyskoski graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Lyskoski is the son of Ethan A. Lyskoski of Las Vegas and Jennifer R. Lyskoski of Elsberry, Mo., and grandson of Sandra Tessier of Las Vegas.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Andre M. Roberson graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Roberson is the son of Thomas Torres and Monica Rodriguez of Henderson.

Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican added six new members to its Community Board of Directors: Dr. Neel Dhudsia, Craig Johnson, Dr. Jennifer Raroque, Rory Reid, John Socha and Bruce Woodbury.

On Oct. 29, the Nevada Restaurant Association celebrated the state’s industry leaders at the annual Culinary Excellence Awards Gala. Winners, along with the finalists in six categories, were honored, and chef Andre Rochat received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Aid for AIDS of Nevada announced the appointment of Nikki Ferraro as the new Board of Trustees president for a two-year term after previously serving as vice president. Marek Bute will step into the vice president role.

Marvin Leo L. Pagayonan has received an Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps scholarship to attend The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. The scholarship includes tuition and fees, as well as an annual book allowance and a monthly stipend for up to 10 months of each school year the scholarship is in effect. Pagayonan is the son of Madoline Pagayonan of Las Vegas and is a 2012 graduate of Odyssey Charter School.
