Larry Hoadley and Robert Smith received Hospitality Hero awards from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
The award was given to the two security guards at The Forum Shops for using CPR and an AED device in their efforts to save a visitor's life.
Harris Kline has been promoted to the rank of brigadier general in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
Kline is a mobilization assistant to command staff judge advocate assigned to the Headquarters, Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
The new brigadier general has served in the military for 28 years.
A 1973 graduate of Valley High School, he received a bachelor's degree in 1976 from Tufts University in Medford, Mass., a juris doctor degree in 1979 from Loyola University Law School in New Orleans, and a master of laws in international law degree in 1981 from Tulane Law School in New Orleans.
Kline is the son of Robert and Dorothy Dekeyzer of New Iberia, La.
Victor Trevino Jr. was named Las Vegas Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist May 11-12 by Elvis Presley Enterprises, the Fremont Street Experience and "Legends in Concert."
Trevino was awarded $2,500 cash and a Graceland prize package. He qualified to compete in the 2012 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest during Elvis Week, Aug. 10-18, in Memphis, Tenn.
Steven Merkes has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas during its May 12 commencement ceremonies.
Merkes graduated from Willows High School in Willows, Calif., in 1976.
He is the husband of Maria Merkes, father of Reuben and Shimon Merkes, and grandson of Myrtle Norton of Gridley, Calif.
Rossi Ralenkotter has been awarded the Vanguard Award by the Las Vegas steering committee of the Human Rights Campaign, a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization. Ralenkotter is president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. He received the award at a dinner celebration May 19 at Wynn Las Vegas.
Shane Petrelli of Las Vegas has received the Agency Affiliation Award from Allstate Insurance Co. Petrelli is celebrating 10 years as an Allstate Insurance agency owner.
