Ely man killed in Christmas Eve rollover
A rollover crash in Lincoln County left an Ely man dead Wednesday afternoon, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Rickie Zabriskie, 50, was headed north on US-93, south of mile marker 97, when he drove his blue 1986 Jaguar across the solid double yellow center line, a release said.
Zabriskie overcorrected and the vehicle began rotating clockwise, crossing over the shoulder.
The vehicle entered the dirt area of the shoulder, continued down an embankment and overturned, causing Zabriskie to be ejected, the release said.
Zabriskie was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:42 p.m.
This is the 60th fatal vehicle collision in 2014 in Nevada Highway Patrol-Southern Command’s jurisdiction.
