Family seeks leads on man missing since Jan. 31

The family of a Las Vegas man who disappeared last month is asking for anyone with information to come forward.

Keith Goldberg, 54, was last seen near Las Vegas Boulevard South and St. Rose Parkway on Jan. 31 after leaving his apartment to get a haircut. He was reported missing on Feb. 3.

"You don't know how to go through this," said Goldberg's sister, Jodi Goldberg, in a phone interview. "You don't expect to do this in your lifetime."

Las Vegas police Sgt. Peter Ferranti, a supervisor with the missing persons detail, said Goldberg's car was recovered on Feb. 10 near Sahara Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard South, almost 15 miles from where he was last reported seen.

It's unclear whether Goldberg remained in Las Vegas.

"We have absolutely no idea," Ferranti said. "We're looking for him. If we get a lead that takes us to another jurisdiction, we would certainly follow up."

Goldberg's family has began using social media to improve the chances of finding him.

The Twitter account @FindKeithG was created by Goldberg's niece soon after her uncle disappeared and has sent nearly 500 messages to national and local media members and celebrities.

"I think police have put some pieces together, but they haven't told us," said Goldberg, who lives on the East Coast. "We are hoping for the best. We just don't think it's going to turn out good."

Goldberg said she and another brother might come to Las Vegas next week to help search. She said Keith came to Las Vegas four or five years ago to work as a taxicab driver. He stands about 5 feet 6 inches and weighs about 155 pounds.

Anyone with information was asked to call the missing persons detail at 828-2907 or the nonemergency police number at 828-3111.
