FedEx plane makes emergency landing at McCarran

A FedEx aircraft made an emergency landing Friday at McCarran International Airport after a report of an on board fire, but officials later determined there had not been a fire.

The FedEx Flag 415, an MD-11 aircraft, took off from Ontario, Calif., en route to Memphis, Tenn., when it diverted to the Las Vegas airport at 7:13 a.m. after a report of a fire in the cargo area, airport spokeswoman Christine Crews said. The fire suppression system was deployed.

There were three people on board. No injuries were reported.

The Clark County Fire Department investigated.
