Here’s how to help the families of Sunday’s ambush victims

Two Las Vegas police officers were killed Sunday in an ambush at a CiCi’s pizza in northeast Las Vegas. The shooters then went to a nearby Walmart, killing a bystander before committing suicide.

Multiple fundraisers have been set up to help the families of the three men who were killed: Officer Alyn Beck, 41, Officer Igor Soldo, 31, and Joseph Wilcox.

Fabulous Freddy’s will give a free exterior car wash to anyone who donates on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon. Proceeds will go to the families of all three victims and friends and family members of the victims will be present at all five Fabulous Freddy’s locations.

Memorial Fund

A memorial fund has been set up for Joseph Wilcox at Wells Fargo. Those who wish to contribute to the Joseph R. Wilcox Memorial Fund can do so using account number 8485852688.

Wednesday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m., all cupcakes will be reduced to $1.00 each with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the families of the victims.

Breakin the Ice will hold a fundraiser for the two police officers from noon to 8 PM on Wednesday in front of the Centennial Hills Smith’s grocery store at 7130 N. Durango Drive. 50% of sales will be donated to the families.

Stacks and Yolks will be donating a portion of proceeds tomorrow morning from 6a.m. -10a.m. 107.5 fm will be broadcasting live with local celebrities out of the restaurant. Ivy Laser Salon will be doing giveaways there all morning.

Dawn Howard, wife of a Metro officer, is collecting donations for the police. She is requesting snacks that won’t melt, water and Gatorade to help police who are working extended shifts. Her email is admin@kingofcasas.com.

3% of all sales from the months of June and July will be donated to the officers’ families.

Jeans Thursdays

Henderson will be adding a fifth charity to the list for this month’s Jeans Thursdays. To raise money for the fallen Metro Police Officers, donate to those who collect Jeans Day money on Thursdays. Tell those collecting that it will go towards the Injured Police Officer Fund, which is directly benefiting Officers Beck and Soldo.
