House fire displaces six in North Las Vegas

A North Las Vegas house fire displaced six people, including a child, at about 1:15 p.m. Saturday, according to fire department spokesman Capt. Cedric Williams.

No one was injured in the fire, which appears to have started on the patio of a single-story, single-family home located at 5233 Krista Alethea St., Williams said.

The fire spread to the house and into the attic. Firefighters put out the fire in five to six minutes, but they remained on scene for several hours to ensure burned insulation in the attic is not at risk of starting another fire, he said.

The damage left the house uninhabitable, but Red Cross is assisting the five adults and one child with finding a place to stay, Williams said. The accidental electrical fire caused $100,000 damage.
