House fire injures two people

Two people sustained minor injuries after a house fire Wednesday afternoon near Pecos Road and Las Vegas Boulevard, North, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

Firefighters received a report about 1:35 p.m. of heavy black smoke coming from the rear of a house on Alto Street. The fire was contained and put out within 10 minutes.

Three people were home at the time of the fire. Two people received medical attention from paramedics and were taken to the hospital.

No other injuries have been reported.

Fire officials believe the fire started in the back bedroom or the kitchen but are still investigating the cause.

Damages total between $50,000 and $75,000, according to the fire department.
