Identity of man killed in burning Henderson home released

The man found mortally wounded in a burning home in an upscale Anthem neighborhood Tuesday has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as Walter Zhongcheng Wu, 20, of Henderson.

Wu was found unconscious about 10:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Holly Tree Court, near Anthem Parkway and Hampton Road, according to Henderson city spokeswoman Kathleen Richards.

Wu was taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena campus where he died from multiple stab and incised wounds and asphyxia, the coroner’s office said. The death was ruled a homicide.

Police found Wu’s Toyota 4Runner at an apartment complex near Boulder Highway and Flamingo Avenue, Richards said Friday. The SUV was abandoned and undamaged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Richards said when asked if the cause was arson.
