Inmate, 52, dies in Northern Nevada

A Nevada inmate serving up to nine years for possession of a stolen vehicle died Thursday, according to Nevada Department of Corrections officials.
Jay Golden, a 52-year-old Northern Nevada Correctional Center inmate, died on Thursday at the Regional Medical Facility, according to a NDOC news release. His cause of death will be released by a Carson City coroner.
Golden was sentenced to between three and a half years to nine years in prison for possession of a stolen vehicle in Clark County, NDOC said. He had been in prison since November 2011.
