Las Vegas hits triple-digit temperatures

The heat in Las Vegas is beginning its approach to the century mark once again.

Las Vegas reached 100 degrees at McCarran International Airport just before 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service's Las Vegas Twitter account.

The North Las Vegas Airport also reached 100 degrees officially, according to the weather service.

McCarran’s thermometer is supposed to hit a higher temperature on Saturday, as the forecast calls for a high of 102 degrees.

The temperature will drop in the following days. Expect a high of 95 on Sunday, a drop to 89 on Monday and only 81 on Tuesday.

The low Friday night is expected to be 76 degrees, with lows decreasing through the weekend.
