Las Vegas police took one person into custody in connection with an early morning homicide in the west valley on Friday.
Officers responded to the 2600 block of South Durango Drive, near Sahara Avenue, about 6:15 a.m. and found the body of a woman, according to a police spokesman.
Homicide Lt. Ray Steiber said police have a man in custody and that they will be making a formal arrest.
Police did not offer further details about the dead woman or the man in custody.
Homicide detectives were still investigating the scene, but Steiber said he would release more information later in the day Friday.
