Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchison to direct Marco Rubio campaign in Nevada
U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio on Wednesday gained a strong ally when Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchison announced would be the Florida senator’s presidential campaign director in Nevada.
Known as an inspiring speaker, Hutchison said of Rubio, “I believe strongly that Senator Rubio is a new-generation conservative who can unite the Republican party and inspire the country.”
Rubio is one of six Republicans so far formally bidding for the White House. The fresh-faced Hispanic leader is running on a theme of revving the American Dream so that his children’s generation will enjoy the fruits of their labor as he has.
Hutchison said he first met Rubio in 2012 when the senator was in Nevada for a rally for U.S. Sen Dean Heller, R-Nev.. He noted Rubio’s family ties to the Silver State, having lived in Las Vegas for six years while growing up. His father was a bartender and his mother a maid.
“I relate to and am inspired by Marco Rubio’s story of a blue-collar, hard-working family, immigrant parents who sacrificed so their children could live the American Dream, and his commitment to helping more people achieve the American Dream,” Hutchison said in a statement.
“In my view, this election is about the future,” he added. “Marco Rubio has a clear vision for where he wants to lead America in the 21st Century. He is the only candidate who has proposed a detailed, innovative new agenda to help more people achieve the American Dream than ever before and create a new American century.”
