Man arrested after bomb threat at Pahrump post office

A man was arrested Monday afternoon after police said he threatened to blow up the Pahrump post office, according to the Nye County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the federal building just after 2 p.m., where Dwight Orndorf was making "comments and threats toward the safety of others," a release said. The deputies set up a perimeter around the post office until Orndorf was taken into custody without incident.

"Orndorf did confirm that he made the accused threats of blowing up a federal building," the release said, adding that Orndorf didn't have an explosive device or weapon but said he was "just mad."

He was transported to the sheriff's office and booked on charges pertaining to making a threat about an act of terrorism.
