Man arrested after Henderson stabbing

Henderson police arrested in a man suspected of stabbing a person he didn‘t know in the neck Monday afternoon, police said.

The person was stabbed with a knife at about 3:45 p.m., after accepting a ride from a friend and Eric Jonathan Nelson, 39, police said. When they arrived at a house in the 100 block of Magnesium Street, near where the 215 Beltway and U.S Highway 95 meet, police said Nelson stabbed the person.

The stabbing victim was able to run to a friend‘s house where 911 was called, police said. The person, whose gender and age were not released, was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

Nelson was arrested without incident about 3:45 a.m. in the 300 block of Regina Way, less than two miles from where the stabbing happened, police said.

Nelson, who police said was identified by witnesses, was booked at the Henderson Detention Center on a charge of attempted murder.
