Man arrested in videotaped hit and run at Las Vegas car wash

Las Vegas police arrested a man Monday in connection with a hit-and-run crash that injured two car wash employees earlier this month.

And the whole thing was caught on video.

Christopher Blalark, 24, was booked at the Clark County Detention Center and faces a felony charge of failing to stop at the scene of an accident involving personal injury or death, police said.

On Dec. 11, police were called to Alamo Hand Car Wash, 5705 S. Rainbow Blvd., near West Russell Road.

Video provided by car wash owner Michael Dorantes, 47, showed two white cars pulling into the parking lot together shortly after 1 p.m. About four minutes later, a car that resembles a 1980s model Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera backs up into a red sedan that Francisco Luis Lorenzo, 29, and Jairo Navarro, 26, were cleaning.

Lorenzo’s injuries include two fractured bones in his back, an hurt leg that he can’t move and broken teeth. Navarro was treated and released shortly after the crash. He was facing the car kneeling down, was pushed into the car’s front side.

The door was pushed into Navarro’s leg. Navarro limped off, Lorenzo rolled on the ground in pain, the video shows.
