The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the man killed in Sunday night’s crash on Desert Inn Road and Bouder Highway.

Jeffrey Kwist, 52, died after he was struck by a SUV while crossing Boulder Highway, Las Vegas police said.

Kwist was running across Boulder Highway about 9:15 p.m. against a red light in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a 2003 GMC Envoy heading southbound on Boulder Highway, police said. It was raining at the time.

Kwist was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he died.

The Envoy was driven by Jose Borja, 22, of Las Vegas. He was not injured.

The crash remained under investigation by police. This is the 41st traffic fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
