Man dies after crash Wednesday night in western Las Vegas

A 63-year-old man died in a crash overnight in the western valley after a possible medical episode, Las Vegas police said.

About 11:20 p.m., a 2004 Honda Civic, which had been traveling north on Surfline Drive near Desert Inn Road, left the roadway, the Metropolitan Police Department said.

The Honda then struck an unoccupied 2005 Toyota Camry Solara parked in the driveway of 3328 Surfline Drive before striking a stucco pillar at the residence, Metro said in a statement.

The driver was taken to Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Police said he may have suffered a medical episode, which triggered the crash.

The Clark County coroner’s office will determine the man’s cause and manner of death and will release his name after his family has been notified.
