Man dies after Sunday night motorcycle crash
A 48-year-old motorcyclist who was thrown from his bike in the western valley Sunday night has died, Las Vegas police said.
The rider, Mark Drozd, was on a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Charleston Boulevard, near Sky Vista Drive, about 6:45 p.m. when it went off the roadway and into the dirt shoulder, police said. The motorcycle overturned and threw the rider off the bike.
Drozd was flown by helicopter to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said. The Clark County coroner's office notified police early Monday morning that Drozd died.
This is Metro's 57th traffic-related fatality for 2015.
