A man hit and killed by a van Friday morning in the southeast valley was identified Saturday by the Clark County coroner's office.
He is 68-year-old Rene Barreto, the coroner's office said.
Barreto was hit by a van about 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of Desert Inn and Mojave roads, police said.
A 2004 Ford Econoline 250 van driven by a 43-year-old man was turning onto Desert Inn from a driveway exit when it hit Barreto, who was crossing on a sidewalk across the driveway.
Barreto died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, police said.
The driver of the van was cooperating with police, the department said Friday.
