Man injured in suspected gang shooting in north valley

A man is hospitalized after a suspected gang shooting in the northern valley Wednesday morning.

Las Vegas police received several calls that shots were fired in the area about 8:10 a.m.

Responding officers located a man at 1910 Ferrell St., near Rancho and Vegas drives, who had been shot at least once. He was transported to University Medical Center with injuries police said were not life-threatening injuries.

Las Vegas police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer says the gang unit was taking over the investigation.
