Man killed in bus stop crash Thursday identified

The man killed after a car crashed into a bus stop Thursday has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office.

Jason Donahue, a 68-year-old Las Vegas resident, was waiting at the bus stop on West Lake Mead Boulevard east of the intersection with North Rancho Drive about 1:30 p.m. when a sedan crashed into it, police said.

The driver of the sedan, 27-year-old North Las Vegas resident Jessica Davison, stayed on the scene, Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Jesse Roybal said.

Davison was driving east when her Hyundai Accent struck the raised median in the street and the sedan's left tires deflated, Metro said. The vehicle continued over the median and struck Donahue at the bus stop.

Donahue, who was in a wheelchair at the time of the crash, was transported to University Medical Center, where he died.

Police said that drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in this case.
