Man shot twice in abdomen in northwest valley, police say

One man was hospitalized after a shooting Friday night near Jones and Lake Mead boulevards, Las Vegas police said.

An 18-year-old man was shot twice in the abdomen about 6:04 p.m. near Jones and Lake Mead boulevards. No one has been arrested, police said. It was unknown what prompted the shooting.

The man was taken to University Medical Center with injuries described as not life-threatening.

Police said they do not believe the incident was gang-related.
