Man wounded in central valley shooting

Metro is investigating a central valley shooting that left a man with a leg wound Tuesday night.

The 34-year-old man was hospitalized, but was expected to survive, said Metro Lt. David Gordon.

Police and medical crews were called at 7:38 p.m. to the 1300 block of Bartlett Avenue, near the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Carey Avenue, Metro Lt. Bruce Miyama said.

The man was shot while inside the house, Miyama said. A neighboring house and vehicle were also hit by gunfire. No one else was injured.

Details are scarce, Miyama said, but police found several bullet casings on the street.

A witness saw a white sedan speed off, Miyama said, but it wasn't clear if the car was involved.
