Metro investigates park death as homicide

Las Vegas police believe a man whose body was found Saturday morning at a central valley park died in a homicide, Metro announced Monday.

Officers were called about 9:20 a.m. Saturday to Doolittle Park, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd., near Concord Street, to assist Las Vegas city marshals with a dead body.

Medical responders found the body with "apparent injuries," police wrote in a release Monday.

Metro's homicide investigation indicated the man was possibly involved in a fight early Saturday morning. As of Monday, no suspects were in custody and the motive for the man's death was unknown, police wrote in the release.

This is the 94th homicide in Metro's jurisdiction this year, the release said.

The man will be identified by the Clark County coroner's office after his family has been notified.
