Metro investigating fatal crash near Jones and Post
Metro's fatal detail is investigating a hit-and-run auto-pedestrian crash on Jones Boulevard near Patrick Lane, Metro Lt. David Gordon said Monday.
The crash happened about 6:11 a.m. and left a woman dead, police said.
The woman, who is described as white or Hispanic, was walking north or south on the west side of Jones Boulevard when she was struck and killed by a vehicle, Metro Traffic Bureau Commander Peter Boffelli said.
The vehicle that hit her left the scene.
The suspected vehicle was later found and the driver was arrested and taken to the Clark County Detention Center, Boffelli said.
Jones Boulevard is closed in both directions between Post Road and Patrick Lane for the investigation, Metro said.
The Clark County coroner will release the woman's identity once family has been notified.
