Metro officer, suspect in foot chase hit by car on the Strip

A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer was hit by a car while chasing a suspect on foot on the Las Vegas strip just north of Flamingo Road early Sunday morning, Metro said.

According to Lt. T.J. Jenkins the officer was attempting to detain the suspect when the person fled. The officer chased the person onto Las Vegas Boulevard where they were both hit by a passing car. Both were transported to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
