Metro releases names of 5 suspects arrested in pawn shop heist

Five people were arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a pawn shop Thursday resulting in a barricade situation and the closing of three nearby schools.

Courtney Jackson, 26, Marquez Anderson, 21, Kaysean Manor, 19, Daysean Jenkins, 22, and Miles Martinez, no age available, were taken into custody and charged with four counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, burglary with a firearm, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon, according to a release from Metro.

As of Friday morning, Miles Martinez's name could not be found in the Clark County Detention Center Inmate Search or Metro's Booking Logs.

An armed robbery occurred at Super Pawn, 7585 W. Washington Ave., near Buffalo Drive, Thursday afternoon. Four males entered the store wearing hoodies, masks and gloves. They held people at gunpoint and ordered everyone to get on the floor, the release said.

They then broke the glass of display cases and took various jewelry items. They fled in a car with their getaway driver, police said.

The investigation, conducted by Metro's robbery detectives, led police to a home at 1501 N. Tonopah Drive, near Vegas Drive, where SWAT assisted in entry so search warrants could be served, the release said.

Several occupants of nearby houses were evacuated for safety reasons, police said.

Hoggard Elementary School, Veterans Tribute Career and Technical Academy and Advanced Technologies Academy were on lockdown. Hoggard was on lockdown the longest, for several hours, because of its close proximity to the home, according to police.

The incident ended peacefully about 6 p.m. with the arrests of the five suspects.
