Moped rider injured in crash at Rampart, Summerlin Parkway

A man driving a moped is in critical condition after crashing into another vehicle at Rampart Boulevard and Summerlin Parkway Friday morning, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

The moped driver was traveling north on Rampart about 4:30 a.m. when he crashed into a white Chrysler 300. The Chrysler was traveling south and turning onto the Summerlin Parkway when the moped driver ran a red light, according to trooper Jason Buratczuk.

The moped driver was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He may have been driving while impaired, NHP said.

The driver of the Chrysler called 911 and remained at the scene, Buratczuk said.
