Motorcycle cops crash in Las Vegas training exercise

Two police officers in a motorcycle certification course crashed their bikes on U.S. Highway 95 Thursday morning, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

First responders were called to southbound U.S. 95 near Jones Boulevard about 10:40 a.m., NHP trooper Loy Hixson said. An NHP trooper and a Henderson police officer had minor injuries and did not need to go to the hospital.

The officers were training in a two-week motorcycle certification course, Hixson said.

Traffic waas restricted for about 15 minutes while the officers and their bikes were moved to the shoulder, Hixson said.
