Motorcyclist killed near Fort Apache and Spring Mountain identified

A motorcyclist killed in a crash Tuesday has been identified as 24-year-old Drew Autry of Las Vegas, according to the Clark County coroner.

Autry was riding his 2011 Yamaha FZ8 motorcycle northbound on Fort Apache Road approaching Spring Mountain Road with a green signal. A Toyota minivan turned left onto southbound Fort Apache with a yellow flashing arrow, blocking the path of the motorcycle, according to a Metro release.

Autry was ejected into the right side of the vehicle when his motorcycle struck the Toyota, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of Nov. 15, there were 25 fatal motorcycle crashes compared to 36 last year, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.

This is the 100th traffic related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction for 2015.
