NLV police seek pair who shot at police building

North Las Vegas police said Tuesday that they need help identifying a truck and its two occupants who they say fired shots into a police building April 11.

The two people in a white pickup fired “multiple rounds” into the department’s West Area Command, 3705 W. Washburn Road, about 2:30 a.m., police spokesman officer Aaron Patty said. No one was hurt.

The “couple” of officers present during the graveyard shift heard the shots, Patty said.

The truck has “distinguishable features” and was described as an extended pickup, possibly a GMC Sierra or Chevrolet Silverado, with flared rear wheel wells and no tailgate, Patty said.

It wasn’t immediately clear if this type of incident has happened to a North Las Vegas police building before, Patty said.

The motive for the shooting is unknown, police said.

Anyone with information on the shooting can call the North Las Vegas Police Department at 702-633-9111. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
