North Las Vegas opening library at new city hall

North Las Vegas is replacing a library it is closing at its old municipal complex with a new branch at its new City Hall.

City spokesman Mitch Fox said Friday the new library will open Oct. 8 at the $130 million, nine-story City Hall on Las Vegas Boulevard North.

The new location will have a dedicated computer-career center in addition to traditional library offerings.

Due dates are being extended for materials from the 2300 Civic Center Drive old branch, which will close Sept. 19.

Returns can be made to the North Las Vegas branch library on Alexander Road between Martin Luther King and Scott Robinson boulevards, or to any Las Vegas-Clark County Library location.

Renewals can be done online at www.nlvld.org or by calling the Aliante branch library.
