North Las Vegas police investigating whether burglary suspect holed up in home
North Las Vegas police are trying to determine if a burglar shot by a homeowner is still inside the home near the intersection of Deer Springs Way and Valley Drive, city police say.
Officers were dispatched about 6 p.m. to the 6700 block of Scavenger Hunt Street, police spokesman officer Aaron Patty said.
"Here was a man who thought someone was breaking into his home," Patty said. "So he shot at him."
After firing rounds, the homeowner ran outside, Patty said about 8:30 p.m. "We don't know if we have a suspect in the house, and we don't know if he is injured or not."
The man affirmed to police that he saw the burglar inside the home.
