Off-duty Metro officer critically injured in motorcycle crash

A motorcyclist was critically injured in an early Saturday morning crash in North Las Vegas, police said.

The crash happened about 12:20 a.m. when a 45-year-old woman in a Chevrolet SUV was driving south on Camino Al Norte and made a left turn onto La Madre Way in the path of a man riding a Victory motorcycle, police spokesman Lt. Tim Bedwell said.

The motorcyclist was taken to University Medical Center. The woman was not injured.

Bedwell said the motorcyclist was a Metro officer who was off-duty and riding his personal bike.
