One dead, three injured while racing in early Sunday rollover

One person is dead and three others injured after a single-vehicle rollover crash north of Las Vegas early Sunday morning.

Police said that four people were racing in a Chevrolet pickup truck on Corn Creek Road just before 1 a.m. Sunday. The truck hit a dip in the road and the driver lost control, running off the side of the road and rolling several times.

The driver of the pickup truck was thrown from the vehicle during the crash. Emergency responders determined that 28-year-old man was beyond medical assistance, and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

The front passenger, a 19-year-old man, was flown to the University Medical Center wil serious injuries. The two passengers in the back seat, a 20-year-old woman and a 23-year-old woman, were taken to UMC via ambulance.

Witnesses told police the driver of the Chevrolet was racing a white, full-sized truck that fled from the scene after the crash. The truck and its driver are still outstanding.

Police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the rollover crash.
