One person wounded in shooting at Cashman Park

A person was wounded in a shooting Sunday afternoon at a park on Desert Inn Road, near its intersection with Decatur Boulevard, Las Vegas police said.

The person was taken to University Medical Center and then sent into surgery, Metro Lt. Jeff Goodwin said. An update on the person's medical condition, as well as age and gender of that person, was not immediately available.

Emergency crews were dispatched about 3:15 p.m. to Cashman Park in the 4600 block of Desert Inn, Goodwin said.

Witnesses told Metro detectives that they saw two or three people arguing before they heard a gunshot, Goodwin said. No arrests have been made, and no shooter description was released.
